Pär Winzell was born in Linköping, Sweden. He wed delightful Karen and subsequently immigrated to the USA, where in the fullness of time they begat young Jeremiah. The three of us make a happy home in Madison, WI.
My degrees are in applied mathematics, and I’m a programmer by trade. I’m happiest when I’m pursuing some primarly aesthetic quest and using engineering disciplines to do it. My master’s thesis was on the problem of generating realistic-looking animations for virtual creatures, and I love physics-based approaches to computer graphics and modelling.
The other long-running thread in my professional life is an involvement with virtual worlds and online communities; from early MUD building through the 90’s followed by four unforgettable years at Skotos to the most recent adventure, my exciting new job with Three Rings.

So glad to see you online, and it’s true you know, you don’t exist if you don’t … blog…or something. I think it boils down to three groups: 1) Those who want to be famous; 2) Those who want to write the great (American) novel and are practicing/secretly hoping to be discovered; and 3) Those people who in the past would call you on the phone and waste hours of your life talking on and on about theirs til you wanted to slice off your own ears.
I’ll let you guess which one is me. *cough*
